Buying from out of state

You can buy a home in Denver or Boulder without living here yet. Brett tours homes for you on video, live or recorded, and you can sign and close from wherever you are. Most buyers make two short trips: one at the start to see neighborhoods, and one at the end to see the finalists.

How it works

  1. Step 01

    First call

Budget, timeline, and the areas you're considering.

  2. Step 02

    Pre-approval

With a lender who knows Colorado's programs and closing process. You can use any lender.

  3. Step 03

    Video tours

Live or recorded, your choice. Brett gives you his honest take on each home and the area around it.

  4. Step 04

    Two short trips

One at the start to see neighborhoods, one at the end to see the finalists. About two days each.

  5. Step 05

    Offer to closing

You sign online. Brett attends the inspection for you, and you can close from wherever you are.

  6. Step 06

    The home you're leaving

Brett can introduce you to a listing agent there, or a property manager if you keep it as a rental.

“Brett is the best realtor I've ever worked with, no contest.”

Relocation questions

Can I buy a home in Colorado without seeing it in person?

Yes. Brett tours each home for you on video, live or recorded. Most buyers still make two short trips, one to choose neighborhoods and one to see the finalists.

How does closing work if I'm out of state?

You can sign and close from wherever you are. Closing usually takes 21 to 30 days after the contract is signed.

What's different about buying in Colorado?

A few things to plan for: radon testing, getting hail and wildfire insurance quotes early, metro district taxes in some newer areas, and the inspection objection deadline in the Colorado contract. Brett walks you through each one.
